A well-balanced group winning bitch from the early 1970's. She displays a good head profile, a well arched neck set on properly, the desired overhang is obvious, her tail is set well on, and she shows butt behind tail'. Notice the difference in grooming compared to grooming on dogs in previous as well as following photos. Also, if the tail had been pushed up over back her back would much shorter. | A well-balanced top winning male of the 1980's, who looks different than some other Westies pictured, partially due to a different grooming style. He definitely looks masculine. |

A well groomed Westie of the 1980's with another look, partially as a result of grooming styles. The dog has a nice flow of the neck into the shoulders, a good set on of tail and a well- blended stripped coat. | A well balanced top winning male from the late 1990's showing still another grooming style. At first glance the overall balance looks off, due I think to several factors, especially the angle of the photo, as well as the grooming and the hyper- extension of the rear legs. Shows a nice neck, desired overhang, a level back and good tail |

A stylish Westie looking somewhat different due to still another grooming style. The overall balance is fine. Head balance looks good. Shows a nice neck and level topline as well as some forechest and butt behind tail'. The tail is certainly groomed differently than on some of the previous dogs. On examination this tail might be almost the same width from base to tip. | This Westie looks balanced, however it appears to be straight fore and aft, and is starting to look a tad square. |
