| An overly teased head which does not give the pert, piercing expression so desired. In my opinion this head needs a good combing out! |

The top Westie is the Ideal drawing from the WHWTCA ILLUSTRATION & CLARIFICATION of the STANDARD, groomed as Westies were in the early 1970's. The bottom Westie is basically the same dog, however it was retrimmed to show the way Westies were presented in the early 1990's. If the tail were pushed slightly forward you would see still a different look to both dogs. |
